The fellowship is falling apart
Hullo all, been a long time since I've been on here. As of now there are 1 and a 1/2 weeks of school left, and I'm not as happy as I thought I'd be a few years before. I wonder how it's going to feel to undergo such a paradigm shift in my life as the one that's approaching me now. I'm sure that how much ever I try I'm not going to even get a faint picture of how life's going to be after school until I'm actually living it. There's never going to be that sense of security that I found in so much abundance at school. I wonder how the world is going to treat me, I've hardly ever fit in in school, and all the teachers have always tried their best to help me to. Will I ever fit in society outside, where no one is making any effort to even know my first name. Right now, I'd like to tell all my friends that I love them, and that I'm going to miss them a lot when we're gone. We're never ever going to be the same way we are now. Its going to be impossible to establish the same connection between ourselves that we have now. No more staying late at school, talking about nothing at all, no more meeting at the canteen, filling ourselves up with toxic waste. Whichever way I look at it, this is the end of our friendship as we know it. Its bound to take a different form, whether that'll be better or worse, i don't know, but it'll definitely be different.

We may fall apart now, but we will never lose each other.
I've never had a friend like you, and without you or Dhruva my life is going to be terribly different. But just because we're apart in body doesn't mean we have to be apart in mind and heart. The world's a small place now, and while most school friends fall out after their twelfth, I shall see that it doesn't happen to us. Because I'll never find another Shishir and I don't know what I'd do without one.

Actually, I don't think that "The fellowship is falling apart" is ever used in the lord of the rings.
They do, however say, "The fellowship is breaking/broken"

Strange, that change is the only constant in life, but it's something that no human being does not resist.

Rang De Basanti: Whatever you may think, the violence definitely stands out in the movie. You can't fight fire with fire like what the movie tries to prove, neither can you use methods of fighting that was used years ago during the freedom struggle,for something what you want to achieve today.
Chandrashekar Azad and Bhaghat Singh fought to avenge the wrong done to the entire nation, whereas Aamir Khan and that Sidharth guy fight the same way to avenge one man's death. In doing so, they put many lives in danger, including their own. If this were to happen in real life on a large scale, India wouldn't survive for 2 days.
We have to something about the state of our own land. There's no doubt about that. But if you don't think before doing what you do, you're creating more chaos than what already exists. If you think you're great because you KILL corrupt politicians, you're sadly mistaken. You have to fight to CHANGE society, instead of KILLING those who fail to uphold its values. Killing is not the way, unlike what the director of Rang De Basanti thinks.
Or maybe that's not what he thinks? Maybe he only wants to send the message of "do soemthing if you want to change your world". I could relate to this, and for this reason, I thought it was an extremely influential movie. Perhaps the most socially relevant
and meaningful movie in Indian cinema. Which is what makes more angry when I hear people telling me that I'm misunderstanding the movie. You have to understand that there are thousand others like me who percieved the movie as a potrayal of violence as an answer to poltical problems. This is complete rubbish.
The 5(or6?) friends in the movies are indeed heroes. But what's heroic about them is their personalities. Aamir Khan's character is the hero of the movie because of his role as a friend to the other 4, and his happy-go-lucky personality. I dont think any of them are heroes for getting themselves killed in the act of avenging their friend's death. When they take over the radio station, they threaten people with guns, and though their intention is not to harm any of them, they certainly put their lives in danger. All this in the act of fighting for their friend's justice.
Sidharth kills his father int eh movie. There is certainly nothing heroic about this. I don;t care what you think the message of the movie is. This scene will definitely "inspire" thousands of indian cinema viewers. "Kill the corrupt, even if one them is you father".Would you like to abide by a social motto like this? It's sickening. At the end of the movie, we see NDTV getting people's opinions on what happens. They're all inspired by the 5 friends and many of them swear that they will finish off what Aamir Khan and his friends start.
If I'm not mistaken, what you're saying is ALL OF THIS that is clearly shown in the movie is to be ignored, and the only message to be taken is "We should do something to change society".
